Dr Riccardo Draghi-Lorenz

Dr Riccardo Draghi-Lorenz is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and a Developmental Psychologist, Director of the Doctorate Course in Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Psychology at the University of Surrey.

He and co-researchers have accumulated a large body of empirical data on the effects of ethnicity on therapy. To this research he brings ideas on the capacity to be aware of self and others, the role played by functional and non-verbal communication, and the importance of socially aware emotions in both early infancy and the therapeutic relationship.
