Georgie Oldfield MCSP

Georgie Oldfield MCSP is a leading physiotherapist and UK Specialist in a pioneering approach to chronic pain that is evidence-based, educational and focuses on self-empowerment.

Georgie is also the founder of SIRPA (Stress Illness Recovery Practitioners Association), an organisation dedicated to promoting the concept that chronic pain is often due to neural pathways that become learned and sensitised, as pain science is now demonstrating.

Through SIRPA, Georgie developed the first training programme in this field in 2010, enabling health professionals to learn how to integrate this approach and the concept on which it is based within their own work.  As well as her training and clinical work, in 2011 Georgie produced the ‘SIRPA online Recovery Programme’, therefore enabling people wherever they are to follow their own individualised programme, with or without additional support and guidance.

Georgie also speaks widely about this approach and on October 4th 2020 she will be hosting, and speaking at, the third of SIRPA’s international conferences, which will again be held at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.  In 2014 Georgie published her book, ‘Chronic Pain: your key to recovery’ and in 2019 was invited to give a TEDx talk, which can be seen by clicking this link.
