James Ogilvie

James Ogilvie, PhD, is a co-founder and faculty of the Contemplative Studies Project of New York. He maintains a private practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy and supervision in Manhattan where he also leads study groups on Bion and on Wittgenstein for Psychoanalysts. He has written and presented on subjects including Bion’s mysticism, how to create an inpatient spiritual issues group, the philosophy of Wittgenstein and its relationship to an understanding of psychosis, and on Buddhist emptiness as it relates to therapeutic process. Dr. Ogilvie teaches at several psychoanalytic institutes in the New York area.
