Kate Robertson

Kate Robertson trained as a child and adolescent psychotherapist at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust after working for many years in the public sector.  Until recently she worked as a consultant child and adolescent psychotherapist in a busy child and adolescent mental health service in London. She has taught infant observation and psychoanalytic theory on several different Tavistock courses and also at the University of Leeds. Kate became interested in training to be a child psychotherapist through undertaking an infant observation when she was a student on the Tavistock Psychoanalytic Studies MA, of which she was the course lead for many years.   She continues to be interested in exploring the ways that psychoanalysis can help to understand ordinary life.

She is currently Chair of the ACP and a clinical supervisor on the child psychotherapy clinical training.
