Dr Poul Rohleder

Dr Poul Rohleder is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice in central London. He has over 18 years’ experience of working in mental health settings and private practice. As well as a clinician, he had an established career as an academic. Until recently he was senior lecturer at the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex, and before that, Reader in Clinical Psychology at the University of East London. He has a particular interest on diversity issues, particularly sexuality, and has published a number of research papers on this topic. He is co-author (with Deborah Abrahams) of the book A Clinical Guide to Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (published by Routledge, 2021), and author of Critical Issues in Clinical and Health Psychology (Published by Sage, 2012). He also is on the editorial board of the British Journal of Psychotherapy. He is currently a trustee of the British Psychoanalytic Council.
