Dr Jill Scharff

Jill Savege Scharff, MD, FABP, MRCPsych is co-founder of the International Psychotherapy Institute (IPI); founder, former Chair, and current supervising analyst of the International Institute for Psychoanalytic Training (IIPT) which is approved by the American Psychoanalytic Association; founder of the IPI Combined Child Analytic and Child Psychotherapy Training Program and the IIPT Teleanalysis Clinical Research Group; and clinical professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University, Washington DC.

Jill trained in psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Royal Edinburgh Hospitals Group and the Tavistock Clinic before her emigration.  She is Senior Fellow of Tavistock Relationships and Honorary Member of the Tavistock Institute of Medical Psychology.  A certified adult and child analyst, she has a private practice in individual, couple, child and family psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in Chevy Chase Maryland, USA. She is the author and editor of books on object relations individual, couple and family therapy, and Psychoanalysis Online, volumes 1, 2, 3 (Karnac) and Psychoanalysis Online volume 4 (Routledge).
