Catherine Holland

Catherine Holland is an attachment based psychoanalytic psychotherapist (UKCP) and an Organisational Consultant (BPC). She trained at a variety of organisations but primarily the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, The Bowlby Centre and the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute. She has a long career in health and social care having engaged as a practitioner with various marginalised and disaffected groups and their mental health issues. This has included intervention work in the context of trauma associated with: homelessness, fostering and adoption, looked after children, adolescent development, young offenders, AIDS/HIV, sex industry, migrants and refugees, addiction, and forensic. A road traffic accident took her away from clinical practice into various management roles in commissioning, policy and service development at both national and international level. She Returned to clinical practice and currently teaches at the Bowlby Centre and works therapeutically with students, parents, couples and individuals, as well as providing supervision and consultation. Catherine has specialist interest in organisational health, attachment focused trauma therapy, EMDR, early infant trauma and forensic issues originating from developmental distress. She is also a Trustee of OPUS (Organisations Promoting Understanding of Society), the Bowlby Centre and an active member of ISPSO (International Society of Psychoanalytic Study of Organisations), APPCIOS and a variety of other organisational networks.
