ESSAY PRIZE

Read our winning entry, The Book and the Child by Mary Pyle.

We were delighted to receive so many great pieces of writing, and thank you to all those who submitted. We chose the winning essay on the basis of the author’s sophisticated understanding of the essay form, her ability to seamlessly connect ideas and her innovative use of psychoanalytic theory to help us to understand everyday experience.

But with so many entries we thought it wise to choose a few more examples from our runners up. Here you’ll find interesting case studies on narcissism, a new appraisal of Fairbairn, and Myna’s essay on reading and not reading will give all us readers pause.

How Can Narcissism be Understood and Worked with in a Clinical Capacity? A Meta-analysis of Three Clinical Case Studies by Mitchell Kirkham Cooper

Back to the Future with W.R.D Fairbairn : A Very Modern Psychotherapist by Sandy Wotton
